Yayasan Centre for Studying and Milieu Development of Indonesia (CESMiD)

Yayasan Centre for Studying and Milieu Development of Indonesia (CESMiD) is an independent, non-profit organization advancing education, research, and community development to build a more just, equitable, and empowered society. Established in 1999 and legally updated in 2015, CESMiD operates at the intersection of academic inquiry and grassroots action, addressing complex socio-cultural, economic, and humanitarian challenges across Indonesia.

With the guiding motto "Advancing Knowledge, Empowering Communities," CESMiD designs and delivers a wide range of programs combining intellectual rigor and community relevance. These include education and training services focusing on capacity building through workshops, seminars, and critical education; academic publications promoting open access to knowledge and evidence-based policymaking; and community empowerment initiatives supporting vulnerable populations through skill development, health education, and participatory group formation.

CESMiD brings together scholars, practitioners, activists, and local leaders to create sustainable solutions grounded in local wisdom and global perspectives. The foundation seeks to strengthen civil society, foster critical awareness, and contribute meaningfully to national and regional development goals through collaboration and innovation.
